Dental Assistant

Department/Program: Hannahville Health & Human Services


This full time (32 hours) position will be assisting the dentist in procedures done routinely in a general dental practice; will perform receptionist and chair-side dentistry assisting, infection control, inventory and record keeping; will provide dental care in accordance with Indian Health Service (IHS) and tribal priorities/guidelines.


High School diploma or GED equivalent. A dental certificate of training in a Dental Assistant Program or one-year experience as a dental assistant. Knowledge of basic dental terminology, dental anatomy, record-keeping procedures, instruments, standardized dental procedures used for oral examination and general dental care, sterilization and infection control techniques, manipulating suction and retraction apparatus, and x-ray machine equipment.  Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; and to maintain effective working relationships, maintain records and carry out assigned duties and routine clinic functions.  Commitment to a serious attitude toward learning and responsibility to taking on new skills and tasks.

Wage: Negotiable and/or dependent upon qualifications. Full benefit package offered.
