Island Oasis Assistant Manager

This full time position with benefits is responsible for assisting the Manager of the Island Oasis mostly during the nighttime shifts with the profitability of and the overall operation of the Island Oasis including maintaining all displays, providing outstanding customer service, training and development of all staff to maintain a high level of performance, and analyzing selling trends.  The successful candidate will maintain all merchandise standards; display presentation and signing standards; ensure that all customers receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment and desired products; plan and assign daily goals, tasks, and assignments; assist manager with training, developing and communicating with staff to maintain a high level of performance; develop a team approach to management; monitor and analyze selling trends and make recommendations to Manager; issue written and oral instructions to assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformity to policies and procedures; stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise; set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales; answer customers’ questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise; total price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer(s) to determine bill; collect cash from customer(s) for purchases and make change or charge purchases using customer’s credit card; remove and record cash register till at end of shift; and calculate sales discount to determine sales price.


High school graduate or equivalent, Associate degree in related field such as business preferred.  Three years as store clerk and two year supervisory experience preferred; basic knowledge of convenience store and gas station operations; point of sales equipment; computerized perpetual inventory system; and all gas station/convenience store equipment to dispense fuel and provide all store and food service products.

Wage: Negotiable dependent upon qualifications
