Newsletter Editor/Administrative Assistant

Description:One full-time position to perform all functions necessary to gather information, prepare, copy, produce and distribute the monthly community newsletter; provide basic receptionist duties; administrative assistance for department staff, projects and events as directed; maintain good working relationship with all departmental staff; participate and complete assigned Professional Development steps outlined in the Career Path Objectives for the Culture and Language Department.
Qualifications:High school graduate; Associate or Bachelor Degree; or willing to complete an Associate Degree within four years. Prior newspaper or journalism experience; must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with good grammar knowledge; must have working knowledge of computer graphics and publishing software (specifically Adobe Photoshop and InDesign); must be able to establish effective working relationships with department staff; must have skills in customer service. Must be able to pass a background application and post offer drug test.
Wage: $12.00 - $14.60 OR dependent upon qualifications
